About the Event
A two day hands-on workshop in eco print on textiles, otherwise known as botanical contact print. Learn how to use various seasonal plant sources to create unique colours and prints on natural textiles. We'll cover how to prepare fabrics for dyeing with a mordant, foraging with a tikanga approach, hot bundle technique and more. Bring a small selection of leaves, petals or seeds from your garden or a place significant to you, plus a notebook or camera to document as you learn. Eco printing offers participants the freedom to embrace serendipitous results while creating a stash of fabrics to use in their own future textile art projects.
A kit of fabrics to dye is additional at $35 pp payable to the tutor.
