About the Event
The slow clothing movement inspires a creative way to connect with the things you love to wear, leaving you with something original that doesn't use up precious new resources. In this workshop we'll be working with the cellulose fibres - cotton and linen - Â using plant based dyes, seasonal fresh leaves and flowers to create colour and patterns on the garments. We'll use a hot bundle technique, with iron as a mordant, while sharing inspiration around the burners with a cup of tea.Â
What to bring. One or two items of clothing made of cotton, linen or viscose in a white, cream or pale colour.Â
Please also bring a small selection of fresh leaves and or flowers from your garden, or a place significant to you for the sharing table.
BYO lunch and a camera or notebook to document. Gloves are optional.
All other materials, gluten free morning tea and tea/coffee provided.Â
This workshop is suitable for beginners to natural dyeing, and also to those with some experience.
Please read the COVID policy before purchasing tickets.
