From Whenua to Fibre - Eco Printing on Fabric

About the Event
A full day hands on workshop for beginner's in learning to eco print, otherwise known as botanical contact print. Learn how to use various seasonal plant sources to create unique colours and prints on natural textiles. We'll cover how to prepare fabrics for dyeing, foraging with a tikanga approach, hot bundle technique and more. Each participant will be given a blank scarf to infuse with beautiful colours and take home. There will also be an opportunity to up-cycle (re-love, redeem) an item of your own preloved clothing. Bring one garment, or perhaps a pillow case or other fabric item from home made of natural fibres. Please also bring a small selection of leaves, petals or seeds from your garden or a place significant to you, plus a notebook or camera to document as you learn. Materials, vegetarian lunch and cups of tea included.
