About the Event
Indigo is a beautiful ancient blue dye made from the indigo plant. A little bit of science and what seems like magic will dye your preloved clothes a classic denim blue. You'll learn some tie dyeing techniques to create a 'resist' on the fabric and make unique funky patterns then get plenty of time to dip and dunk and create a fabulous upcycled wardrobe of clothes.
Each participant can bring up to 4 items of clothing (or similar) from home to dye. These need to be made of natural materials - cotton, linen, silk - pre washed and preferably in light or white colours. T shirts, singlets, pillowcases, tea towels, hats, socks etc are all good. No bulky items like jumpers or jeans as vat space will be limited. Wear suitable old clothes. Also bring rubber gloves and a waterproof container to take wet materials home. Tutor provides all other materials.
BYO morning tea snack and dress for the weather as we'll be working both inside and outside.
