About the Event

Karen Williamson is a natural dyer working with botanical printing on fabric and paper, Marianda Twydell is an artist whose medium includes drawing, felting, glass art and mixed media. Both women are united in embracing the mindful and reverant use of natural or repurposed materials in their art. Together they have co-tutored several workshops, nourishing the little sparks of creativity that fly between themselves and students which inevitably result in a beautiful synergy and lots of laughs. Join them for a wonderful weekend of making, using things foraged from the landscape or recycled from old, to produce your own felted and embellished reusable journal cover. No experience needed as you learn to do basic felting, eco printing with plants and sketching, and decorate your cover with ink and stitch. The weekend includes trips to local places such as Eutopia Cafe, The Apple Basket patchwork shop and a walk in nearby native bush to collect leaves. For those wishing to stay overnight in the area there is the opportunity to meet for a meal on Saturday night, and recommendations for accomodation given on request.

The investment of $240 pp includes tutoring, Saturday lunch, Sunday morning tea at Eutopia and a kit of most materials you will need to complete your project. A list of things to bring is supplied to participants after registration. Places are limited. Nourish your soul with days full of creative energy, good company and delicious food in an rural garden setting.
