About the Event

The slow clothes movement inspires a creative way to connect with the things you love to wear, leaving you with something original without using up precious new resources. In this workshop we'll be working with silk and wool knit to upcycle items using plant based dyes, leaves, flowers and mineral salts. Over the morning we prepare fibres with a mordant - which helps bind the dye onto the fabric. Then we'll add some colour and prints with a hot bundle technique, sharing inspiration around the burners with a cup of tea.

Bring along an item of clothing made of silk or light weight wool in a white, cream or pale colour. This full day workshop will leave you with skills for life and a new found love for slow clothing.

BYO lunch and one garment to upcycle. If you wish, please also bring a small selection of leaves or flowers from your garden, or a place significant to you.

All other materials, tea and coffee provided.
