About the Event

Embark on a botanical dyeing journey with madder, an ancient red dye source from the root of the plant Rubia cordifolia. Using a little chemistry and perhaps a touch of magic, you will experiment with recipes and modifiers to learn how to alter your results and create several different and dramatic hues. Participants will create a mini booklet of yarn samples and gain an understanding of this classic dye. You will finish the day by dyeing a skein of wool to take home. This is a magical workshop for dyers of all skill levels but will have particular appeal to knitters and weavers.

What's included:

Madder extract and modifiers. Blank booklet. 2 x 100grms skein of pre mordanted wool yarn. All equipment.
